Nigerian without papers asked to leave country

BHUBANESWAR: Police on Wednesday requested a Nigerian nationwide to depart the country by way of June 16 after he used to be stuck in Kharavel Nagar right here final week without valid go back and forth paperwork. Goodness Thomson Igwe's passport and visa expired a few weeks ago, police mentioned.

"We informed the Nigerian embassy in Delhi about Igwe's illegal stay in India. The embassy informed us that his passport and visa have already expired," deputy commissioner of police Anup Kumar Sahoo instructed TOI.


On June eight, Igwe approached the Kharavel Nagar police station and complained that any individual stole his passport and visa. During investigation, police came to grasp that the foreigner has been staying in India illegally. Police had been trying to find out the date of Igwe's arrival in India and precise date of expiry of his visa and passport.

"We have intimated the ministry of home affairs and ministry of external affairs about the development through the home department," some other officer mentioned. However, the lady refused to reveal details about her hyperlinks with the foreigner.
