BHUBANESWAR: After snapping ties with industry affiliation CII, the state executive has roped in FICCI to be its industry partner for the impending Make in Odisha match and funding promotion activities.
Established in 1927, the Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) is likely one of the oldest industry organizations in India. On June 8, the state industries department disengaged the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) as the industry partner months after it communicated its lack of ability to participate in the conclave.
“After discussion with the state executive, industry body--FICCI has agreed to be a part of the Make in Odisha conclave,” stated industries minister Ananta Das.
The second edition of the Make in Odisha, the biennial conclave is scheduled from 11th to 15th November right here.
According to reputable resources, FICCI would help the state executive in organizing funding promotion activities inside the country and abroad in the run as much as the biennial traders’ meet. It would also lend a hand the state executive to verify participation of corporate majors in the biz conclave in November.
CII had partnered with the state executive to arrange the first edition of the Make in Odisha conclave in November-December 2016 all over which the state executive gained funding intent worth more than Rs 2 lakh crore.
Decision of the industry affiliation not to participate the biz conclave had induced a political row as the ruling BJD blamed Jagi Mangat Panda, CII’s japanese zone chairperson and wife of former MP Baijayant Panda behind the move. Brushing aside the charges, Jagi had stated not to drag her into politics.
The CII’s decision had also compelled its Odisha bankruptcy chairperson and vice chairperson to surrender from their positions.
Meanwhile, the industries minister informed that a delegation led by him would visit and behavior roadshows in Germany, Italy and Saudi Arabia to exhibit Odisha’s funding potential and to draw funding in various sector.
“Besides officers from the state executive, best executives from nine companies will probably be a part of the delegation,” Das stated.
The state executive appears for investments in focal point sectors like ancillary and downstream in metal, meals processing together with seafood, attire and textile, electronics production, chemical, plastic and petrochemical and tourism to create more employment alternatives.
Over 60 according to cent of the projects, which have been gained all over the Make in Odisha in 2016 has already been licensed and beneath various phases of implementation, stated the industries minister.
