Patiala farmer kills another over Rs 2,000

PATIALA: A 55-year-old farmer was beaten to loss of life for his failure to transparent dues of any other farmer within the village.


The incident took place late on Wednesday when two young farmers reminded the victim of clearing the dues of Rs 2,000 that had been pending for the reason that harvesting of the wheat crop.


The police claimed that the deceased, identified as Harjinder Singh, 55, along with a neighbouring farmer at Gulzarpur Tharua village, had introduced a combine harvester to reap the wheat crop. The police added that Harjinder could not pay some amount at the time of harvesting and allegedly promised to pay off it after harvesting the wheat crop. The accused, Neeta Singh, was a neighbour of the victim and in the past both enjoyed good members of the family, on foundation of which the accused agreed to pay the remainder amount of Rs 2,000 on behalf of Harjinder. It is realized that both victim and the accused have been beneath an agricultural debt.


“On Wednesday, the accused, along with his pal Shamsher Singh of Dera Asro, have been drunk. Both stopped Harjinder, who was returning home from his fields. Both started an issue and later beat up Harjinder. The deceased was rushed to the sanatorium however docs eclared him introduced dead.


A case of homicide has been registered in opposition to the accused. “Prima facie, we have now not found any critical damage marks on the frame however there are some internal accidents that seem as the reason for loss of life. Further probe within the matter is on and soon the accused shall be nabbed,” mentioned investigating officer Darshan Singh, who is posted as SHO, Shutrana.
