Mangaluru: PWD minister H D Revanna stated the department has decided to free up Rs 25,000 per km for the repair of PWD roads, which can be damaged due to rains.
“We have mentioned more than a few problems with officers of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts. Our priority is to make all roads loose from potholes and construct drainages wherever required. For this, the department has decided to sanction Rs 25,000 per km,” the minister stated at a assessment assembly right here on Tuesday.

Dakshina Kannada DC Sasikanth Senthil stated the district calls for Rs 19 crore for rain relief works within the district. Of the Rs 19 crore, Rs 6 crore can be for the development of roads thru PWD. Meanwhile, deputy commissioner of Udupi Priyanka Mary Francis stated a file on rain damage with a loss estimate of Rs 1.17 crore has been submitted.
