BHUBANESWAR: The railways and the state govt are making plans to introduce a luxurious teach on the lines of the 'Palace-on-Wheels' in Odisha to attract high-spending tourists, especially foreigners.
Sanjiv Garg, further member (tourism and catering) of the Railway Board, and leader secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi met to disucss the proposal. The Railway Board has already sent a letter to the state govt to begin the carrier. "We received the proposal today (Thursday). We will go through it properly and inform the railways after a proper government order," he added. The venture shall be a joint venture between the state and the railways. The latter will perform rakes and take 'haulage fees'. tnn
