Rains lash Mum; lead to waterlogging

MUMBAI: Mumbai woke up to a couple extraordinarily heavy rains on Monday morning leading to waterlogging and site visitors disruptions at many puts in the town.

The India Meteorological Department, Mumbai (IMD) has forecast very heavy rains to continue in Mumbai all right through Monday.

"There is an offshore trough extending from south Gujarat to Kerala, an upper air cyclonic circulation and the strengthening of the westerlies. Such heavy showers will continue throughout the day," he stated.

Meanwhile, there were no flight diversions or cancellations as a result of rain on the Mumbai airport. Departures are past due by means of a median of 20 minutes while arrivals on time. No visibility problems up to now. In case of BEST, the buses had been diverted on 47 routes in 8 waterlogged areas in island town and suburbs.


Meanwhile, there used to be a landslide at Wadala area with at least 4 cars having slid inside the collapse. No person has been injured in the incident up to now. The go out of the adjacent construction is flooded with fire brigade cars it the spot since early morning.

Meanwhile, between Virar and Surat, all mail and categorical trains arriving at Bandra Terminus, Dadar Terminus and Mumbai central are expected to be coming in past due.
