GUWAHATI: Seven other people, together with a woman, have died within the ultimate 48 hours after eating spurious country-made liquor in Golaghat district's Barpathar area. People reportedly started falling sick after eating the liquor since Saturday night time.
Barpathar police station officer in-charge Bholaram Borah on Sunday mentioned two individuals who sold the spurious liquor had been arrested. They have been peddling liquor illegally from their rapid meals joint, resources mentioned.
Police swung into action after locals came out in huge numbers and attempted to dismantle the store from the place the liquor was procured.
