SURAT: Two eight-year-old school boys suffered critical accidents because the iron gate of the municipal school on Ved Road collapsed on them while they had been enjoying in campus on Wednesday.
The boys had been shifted to health facility and certainly one of them suffered critical head accidents. The complete incident used to be captured on CCTV digital camera. In the incident Mahesh Patil, eight and Devesh More, eight, both residents of Ved Raod suffered accidents when an iron gate collapsed on them.
Mahesh suffered critical accidents on head and different body parts while Devesh suffered injury in leg. Both the victims are students of Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) run school No 180. They had been enjoying in the school campus on Wednesday afternoon when the gate collapsed on them. Those present at the spot lifted the gate and rescued the lads.
The gate used to be closed when the twist of fate took place and few seconds before it collapsed at the students a young boy is observed leaping over it. The gate used to be no longer properly suited for the wall because of which it collapsed when some students pulled it from one end. They had been initially shifted to Surat Municipal Institute of Medical Education (SMIMER) for treatment and later Patil used to be shifted to a private health facility because of critical head injury.
