Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission: Coimbatore girl tops rank list but wants to continue pursuing BSc chemistry
COIMBATORE: Coimbatore girl Keerthana Ravi, 18, topped the rank checklist for Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission (TNEA) released by means of Anna University on Thursday.
Interestingly, Keerthana, who handed out ultimate yr, stated whilst she was satisfied that she were ranked first, she didn’t need to pursue engineering. “I am pursuing BSc chemistry in St Stephen’s College, New Delhi. I will proceed to pursue that,” she told TOI.
Keerthana stated she had applied for TNEA as she had an idea to shift. "But as of now, i have no interest in engineering," she stated.
A resident of Saibaba Colony within the town, Keerthana stated she studied in BSS Gurukulam in Palakkad. She had scored 1200 out of 1200 in her Kerala board exams. As she was a resident of Coimbatore, she was in a position to apply for Tamil Nadu engineering admissions, she stated.
Keerthana stated she had scored complete marks in the entire topics she had chosen – physics, chemistry, biology, maths, English and Sanskrit.
Speaking of her hobby in chemistry, Keerthana stated she had a special interest for organic chemistry. “I had a very good chemistry teacher in class, who kindled my interest for chemistry. Even if I had to make a choice engineering, I'd have chosen chemical engineering,” Keerthana stated.
Keerthana’s father, A S Ravi, is an engineer and her mom, Balambika Ravi, is the foremost of the BSS B Ed Training College, Palakkad.
“I used to trip to my faculty in Palakkad daily with my mom who used to pressure to her college,” stated Keerthana.
While lately folks need their kids to pursue professional classes, how did Keerthana’s folks allow her to make a choice a natural science path despite her scoring smartly in board exams? “It was my resolution at the finish, and my folks don’t have any problem with it,” she stated.
