CHENNAI: A constable connected to the Marina police station suffered a finger fracture after being attacked via two under the influence of alcohol men here within the early hours of Friday.
Grade one police constable Marikannan and two different policemen have been checking vehicles near the Marina Beach round 1am.
They stopped two men -- recognized as Vignesh, 24, and Madhan Kumar, 25, of Triplicane -- who have been returning home on a two-wheeler after spending time on Marina Beach. The two men have been allegedly under the influence of alcohol.
Marikannan requested them to turn him the documents of the two-wheeler. The men refused to take action, as an alternative they attacked him. Marikannan suffered a fracture on his left index finger.
He was admitted to Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital.
The police arrested the duo.
