Udupi murder: Six men, including 3 cops, held

MANGALURU: The Udupi district police have arrested six more persons together with three police officers in reference to alleged homicide of 62-year-old cattle dealer Hussainabba near a coffee plant in Perdur on May 30.
One of the arrested police officers come with DN Kumar, a sub-inspector at Hiriyadka police station.

Earlier, police had arrested 4 persons belonging to a saffron fringe crew in Balllari.

Police stated that the arrested persons have been known as D N Kumar, Gopal, Mohan Kothwal, Chethan Acharya, Shailesh Shetty and Ganesh Naik. Chetan, Shailesh and Ganesh are residents of Perdur.


Police stated that during interrogation, the accused police officials have confessed ahead of the investigation officer that the incident took place in entrance of them.


On June 1, the police arrested 4 persons Suresh Mendon, Prasad H Kondady, Rathan and Deepak Shetty and they have sent to judicial custody.


Total selection of arrest to this point are reached to 10. On May 31, the department suspended SI D N Kumar for dereliction of responsibility and for disobeying the orders of senior officers.


Police added that during investigation it used to be published that saffron fringe crew had stopped Hussainabba whilst he used to be carrying cattles in his SUV. The incident took place on May 30 around 4am, when the accused waylaid his SUV at Seenabettu in Perdur and later he used to be allegedly murdered by way of them.
