Coimbatore: The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) officers on Saturday seized about 350kg banned tobacco merchandise price about Rs 2lakh shape a warehouse in the town.
Shortly after seizing about 250kg banned tobacco merchandise from a warehouse on Thomas Street on Friday, the officers had found a small warehouse in the residential house, FSSAI designated officer B Vijayalalithambigai mentioned. “As its proprietor did not flip up until evening, we sealed the warehouse with the assistance of police. We opened it on Saturday morning in presence of the landlord and found about 350kg banned tobacco merchandise,” she mentioned.
“We have sent the pattern to laboratories in Madurai. We will report a case after receiving stories from the laboratory.”
