CHENNAI: We don't know but if it's a fraud or a Freudian slip, but a poem that gave the impression in the ruling AIADMK's mouthpiece 'Namadhu Amma' on June 17 seems to have gone unnoticed despite it lampooning corruption in the executive.
'Thagapansamy', the poem penned by way of the paper's editor Marudhu Alaguraj - under the pen identify 'Chithraguptan' - narrates the ordeal of an aged man who is asked to pay 'three and 5" for a central authority process for his son. Even 'Samy' (God) in Vellalapatti (a village in Salem), who he approached for divine intervention, sought a silver spear as bribe, laments the protagonist of the poem.
Alaguraj mentioned it was once now not targeting the federal government. "The weekly poem was once intended to be apolitical, holding in thoughts the larger readership. Bribery is prevalent and no person can deny it. That does not imply it relates to the TN executive. Why can't or not it's about the neighbouring states or the Centre?" Alaguraj told TOI.
Party leaders are not amused. Many of them mentioned they hadn't learn the poem, but when learn out, they mentioned it was once rather a humiliation.
‘I’m given complete freedom to write’
A senior leader mentioned, “The paper makes allegations against the federal government, when it was once launched by way of none rather than Tamil Nadu leader minister Edappadi Okay Palaniswami and deputy leader minister O Panneerselvam.”
Municipal administration minister S P Velumani was once at the forefont of launching ‘Namadhu Amma’ on February 24, the 70th beginning anniversary of J Jayalalithaa, as a counter to the previous mouthpiece ‘Namadhu
MGR’ which remains in the fingers of the Sasikala family after the celebration cut up.
The poem also talks about the protagonist justifying looking for dowry from his son’s bride, whose father belongs to a Thevar sub-sect.
“I'm given complete freedom to write, and no person has raised questions up to now,” mentioned Alaguraj. Buttressing his argument that the poem has nothing to do with the Tamil Nadu executive, he mentioned Palaniswami was once working the federal government efficiently.
