COIMBATORE: BJP normal secretary Muralidhar Rao on Monday expressed confidence that the celebration will win “some seats” in Tamil Nadu within the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
Addressing a gathering of industrialists on the Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry here, Rao said Tamil Nadu was the BJP’s weakest spot.
“BJP has managed to get a foothold and now a stronghold in Tripura, where the folks had spoken nothing about us erailer. But in Tamil Nadu, and especially Coimbatore, people make a large number of promises however at all times fail to accomplish,” he said. “However, It's not that i am blaming Coimbatore or the state. I am blaming the celebration,” he said.
“We know that the state has a comfortable corner for BJP and with the elections coming the ministers in New Delhi will certainly be eager about executing new infrastructure projects within the state,” he added.
