KOLKATA: The Calcutta high court docket on Friday quashed 12 instances in opposition to BJP chief and previous railway minister Mukul Roy in the cash-for-job scam in the railways.
Roy's counsel claimed that the allegations were not substantiated and absurd in nature.

It was additionally said prior to the court docket that although the complaints claimed that the alleged incidents of money for process came about in 2012, the complainants had filed the felony instances handiest this yr.

Roy's counsel Subhasish Dasgupta said that there was no plausible rationalization on a part of the complainants for the prolong of six years to make the allegations.


The West Bengal executive, on the other hand, opposed the prayer for quashing of instances in opposition to Roy.


Hearing both the events, Justice Shivakant Prasad rejected the 12 instances filed in opposition to Roy.


Out of the 12 instances, 10 case have been filed at Bijpur police station and one each and every at Naihati and Noapara in North 24 Parganas district.


A former Trinamool Congress chief, Roy was the railway minister in 2012.
