LUDHIANA: Director General of Police of Punjab Suresh Arora has called upon the public to assist the state police in eradicating the threat of drugs from the state, the similar means they assisted in eradicating militancy. He mentioned that the Punjab police drive is dedicated to eradicating the drug threat from the state and assured that a number of steps were being taken in this regard.
Suresh Arora used to be the chief guest at a medicine awareness programme organised by Police District Khanna at a non-public hotel here on Friday. He said punjab used to be passing through a segment of trade in this day and age. He said that right through this certain trade, a lot of drug addicts are coming forward themselves for shunning drugs. He said that right through the times of militancy, public supported the Punjab Police and this is why it used to be eradicated from the grassroots level. Arora said that no action could be taken towards those that voluntarily come to drug de-addiction centres for shunning drugs and instead.
