CBI told to issue probe report to Vishnupriya’s dad

Coimbatore: The leader judicial Justice of the Peace (CJM) court docket here on Thursday directed the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to provide copies of inquiry file at the demise of deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Vishnupriya to her father M Ravi.
Ravi had approached the court docket in the hunt for the CBI file on his daughter’s demise after he was given the CB-CID file instead.

Vishnupriya, who was the DSP of Tiruchengode in Namakkal district, was investigating the murder of Gokulraj, 23, a native of Omalur in Salem district. Gokulraj’s decapitated body was discovered near a railway track in Thiruchengode sub-division in Namakkal district in 2015.


Meanwhile, she was discovered striking in her residence at Tiruchengode on September 18, 2015. The case was investigated by means of the state police and later transferred to the CB-CID. Alleging departmental harassment as the reason for her suicide, Ravi had filed a petition ahead of the Supreme Court soliciting for CBI inquiry.


In its ultimate file in May 2018, CBI stated it was a suicide and ruled out departmental harassment. But Ravi alleged that the CBI did not investigate the case correctly and sought the inquiry file. The court docket ordered CBI to provide the inquiry reports to Ravi. When the case came up for listening to on Thursday, protection suggest PR Arulmozhi stated that CBI had handed over the CB-CID’s investigation report to Ravi.


After Ravi sought the CBI’s file, leader judicial Justice of the Peace Nagaraj ordered CBI to furnish the report to Ravi and adjourned the case to August 9.
