FIR against hospital for taking parking fee

HYDERABAD: The Banjara Hills police registered an FIR in opposition to Rainbow Children’s Hospital following a criticism via an activist about the hospital’s parking operator amassing parking fees from attendants of patients and visitors.
Police registered FIR beneath Section 188 (disobedience of order promulgated via public servant), 418 (cheating out of a fiduciary courting) and 420 (cheating) of IPC in opposition to Rainbow Hospitals on Sunday.


“We registered the FIR in accordance with the allegations of activist Vijay Gopal. He alleged violation of government rules on parking in commercial complexes, multiplexes and hospitals. The complainant mentioned he has video evidence. We will verify the evidence and act accordingly,” Banjara Hills police inspector Okay Srinivas informed TOI.


“The hospital has leased out the parking lot, which is in opposition to the rules. The lessee, to recuperate the quantity, will exploit patients and visitors. They are amassing parking fees from inpatients and outpatients. As per the amended rules, the hospital should not collect parking rate from visitors of patients both,” complainant Vijay Gopal informed TOI.


The state executive had issued an order barring commercial establishments from amassing fees for parking inside 30 mins from April 2018. Hospitals have been also introduced into this. The executive mentioned parking should be loose after 30 mins also if the buyer provides a invoice as evidence of purchase in shopping complexes and hospital expenses and receipts for patients.


Refuting the allegations, the hospital authorities mentioned handiest the ones coming to shop in the neighbourhood and looking to park their cars in the hospital parking are charged.
