Google Doodle remembers Hubert Cecil Booth, inventor of vacuum cleaner

Cleaning a dusty carpet, or a far off corner of a room is not any big deal, in case you have a vacuum cleaner in the home.

Ever questioned who to credit score for inventing this very handy family appliance?

British engineer Hubert Cecil Booth. Today's Google Doodle recalls Booth on his 147th birthday.

The concept of a hygenic method to blank mud occurred to Booth whilst attending a demonstration of American machines in London. He noticed that cleansing machines blew or brushed dust away, making it a messy affair general. Booth thought of designing a gadget that would suck up mud instead.

Vacuum cleaners modelled on Booth's design had been made commercially to be had for the first time in 1901.

Booth later went directly to become the chairman and managing director of the British Vacuum Cleaner and Engineering Co.
