NEW DELHI: After the Supreme Court order made it transparent that the elected government used to be no longer required to take the approval of the LG for all its resolution, deputy CM Manish Sisodia slammed LG Anil Baijal, calling him an “obstructionist”. The state government, he stated, did not have non-public issues with the LG, but the “government will struggle anyone who blocks works for public welfare”.
“The elected government will now take choices and best tell the LG of the decisions taken on all subjects, except land, public order and police. The LG has no longer been entrusted with any impartial decision-making power,” Sisodia stated, reiterating the Supreme Court’s views.
Sisodia stated that the Constitution specified no powers on all subjects for the LG, but “via misinterpreting the constitution and other provisions of the regulation, the LG persevered to hinder the elected government’s work”. This used to be akin to “cheating the folks of Delhi”, the deputy CM stated.
The deputy CM alleged, “The LG used to be working like an obstructionist for the last two years at the instructions of PM Narendra Modi.” Sisodia added the LG will have to apologise to the folks of Delhi, saying, “The Supreme Court has recommended the LG in transparent phrases not to act in a mechanical method with out due software of thoughts and refer every resolution of the government to the President.”
