Main roads and bylanes of a number of localities of the city including Khuldabad, Nakaskhona, Station Road, Leader Road, George Town, Tagore Town, Kydgunj, Dariyabad, Meerapur, Johnstonganj, Muttigunj, Allahapur, LIC Colony, Sobatiyabagh, Govindpur, Salori, Chota Bagarah, low-laying spaces of Mufordganj, Rajapur and Ashok Nagar and so forth have been all waterlogged for a number of hours.
"This is perhaps the heaviest downpour that the city has received in this monsoon season as the road leading to our colony became inaccessible for hours together, " stated Kundan, a resident of Sulem Sarai.
The street, going beneath the Niranjan railway bridge, was also waterlogged thereby creating problems for the motion of both vehicles and commuters. Likewise, roads, particularly those which were not too long ago repaired, have been damaged resulting in pits and bricks appearing on the surface.
“Now the rains are right here to stick as the city, and the northern simple would receive heavy to very heavy rainfall in the days to come with period of dry days and when the humidity will build up, the city can have identical rains”, stated Prof S S Ojha of the dept of Geography, Allahabad University.
