It’s a first for AMTS: 200 AC buses soon

For the first time, Amdavadis will be capable of enjoy the cool convenience of AMTS buses with Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation granting approval for the acquisition of 200 air conditioned buses. After BRTS working AC buses, it will be a first for AMTS. AMC has approved the proposal for 250 new buses, of which 200 are AC mini buses and 50 are electric buses. This might lend a hand shore up its dwindling coffers.


Last 12 months, AMTS reported aloss of Rs 315 crore. Meanwhile, taking into account the traffic pressure on SG Highway and surrounding spaces, the AMC has decided to run additional buses from Vaishno Devi circle to Sarkhej. This is to be sure that people who paintings on that direction can park their cars in designated parking spaces and take a bus on S G Highway. Buses shall be to be had each 5 mins. From the present 12 buses, it will be larger to 19 buses. One bus will be capable of ferry 650 passengers throughout the day.

The buses shall be to be had from 6.30 am to 9 pm. AMTS Chairman Atul Bhavsar stated, “We have added seven buses to the existing fleet of 12 buses working from Vaishno Devi circle to Sarkhej after a just right reaction from folks. We are also getting 200 AC mini buses and 50 electric buses.”
