KSPCB seizes materials at two dyeing units

Mysuru: An afternoon after the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) ordered the closure of 8 auxiliary dyeing gadgets in the city and police filed circumstances against the house owners of the plants, air pollution board officials, in conjunction with district administration authorities on Thursday confiscated materials at two plants.
On Wednesday, KSPCB officials directed these gadgets, that have been working with out taking essential permission from the competent authorities, to close shop. On Thursdays KSPCB officials, in conjunction with a tahsildar and Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) authorities seized materials from two of the plants that had been advised to near in Bannimantap.

KSPCB air pollution control officer BM Prakash advised TOI that they raided two gadgets falling inside of Narasimharaja (NR) police station limits. “When we carried out the raid, we discovered that some of the gadgets was locked, while the other one, although open, had no employees. We will shut the remaining six gadgets in the coming days,” Prakash stated.


He stated that all the dyeing gadgets had been established by businessmen from Tamil Nadu. “While some of them pay the next hire in order as a way to run these gadgets, others arrange shop in areas which might be much less crowded. Once they hire out these spaces, the house owners allow the effluents to glide into the underground drainage network. We will initiate action against the house owners of the valuables that was rented out for these gadgets. There are provisions in the Indian Penal Code, through which the house owners of the gadgets can be imprisoned for up to 5 years,” Prakash added.


Fuming at the air pollution brought about by the dyeing gadgets, Prakash stated that the house owners had managed to function these plants with turbines even after the Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation had disconnected energy provide. “These dyeing gadgets have already contaminated groundwater in Tamil Nadu, owing to which the federal government there took stringent action against them. Now, they've began to relocate to places the place there may be bound to much less hindrance to their work,” he stated.
