HYDERABAD: A lifeless body of a Leopard used to be discovered at the banks of Singur Dam Reservoir in Sangareddy district on Saturday.
According to the wooded area officers, the leopard will have been swept down because of the flood water from catchment house of adjacent Maharashtra or Karnataka spaces.
"For the last 10 or 20 years, we do not have any signs that indicate presence of Leopard in that area, especially Mannur, Narayankhed or Nyalkal areas which are nearby Singur," mentioned V Venkateswara Rao, Sangareddy District Forest Officer (DFO).
"In case there is any presence of Leopard, there would be some incidents of cattle or deer killing in these areas. There were no such cases despite a large number of deer population, especially Narayankhed area," Rao mentioned.
He additional informed that because there is no presence of any predator in these spaces the inhabitants of deer is increasing tremendously.
"If not a kill, the animal would have been spotted or heard by the nearby villagers in all these years," the wooded area officers mentioned.
However, the Sangareddy wooded area vary authentic rushed to the spot on receiving data of the dead Leopard to habits panchanama and post-mortem.
