More than 40% of 95K pollsters 'approve' of abusive tweets directed at Sushma Swaraj

NEW DELHI: More than forty % of the individuals who participated in an ongoing on-line poll performed by external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj 'endorsed' the hate-filled, abusive comments directed at her, days after her ministry granted passport to an interfaith couple.

Late on Saturday evening, Swaraj sought public opinion at the misogynist and private attacks she used to be being subjected to on social media for the previous couple of days by organizing a Twitter poll.

"Friends: I have liked some tweets. This is happening for the last few days. Do you approve of such tweets? Please RT," she tweeted.

"Such used to be her devotion to the family. As in keeping with my father's want, she lit my father's pyre. We adore her. Please do not use such words for her. We are first generation in legislation and politics. We pray for not anything more than her existence. Pls put across my profound regards to your spouse," he added.

This comes days after Swaraj used to be trolled and abused on Twitter over an issue involving the issuance of passport to an interfaith couple.

A Passport Seva Kendra professional, Vikas Mishra, in Lucknow used to be transferred after the interfaith couple alleged that he humiliated the couple once they went to the place of job with their passport applications lately.

According to the couple, Mishra asked the husband to transform to Hinduism and pulled up the spouse for marrying a Muslim.

A section of social media had attacked Swaraj and the ministry for taking motion in opposition to Mishra, claiming that he used to be simply doing his duty.

The minister had retweeted one of the tweets that were even abusive and communal in nature.


Asked whether or not the Ministry of External Affairs is contemplating taking any motion in opposition to the trolls, Ministry spokesperson Raveesh Kumar had stated, "The EAM (External Affairs Minister) has answered to those malicious tweets and the trolling which she used to be subjected to in her own method and in a fashion which she deemed are compatible. I don't believe I've anything else additional so as to add on that."


The attack on Swaraj used to be condemned unequivocally political leaders and teams, together with former leader minister of Jammu and Kashmir Mehbooba Mufti.


"Horrified by the vicious trolling Sushma Swaraj ji has been subjected to. Absolutely outrageous! If our own Minister of External Affairs is not spared, what hope is there for any other woman?" the PDP leaders tweeted on .
