NAGPUR: Tripura chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb mentioned on Tuesday that there was no call for for a citizen's register like the National Register of Citizens (NRC) in his state.
He mentioned it is not even a delicate factor in Assam, the place the final draft of the NRC was printed on Monday with over 2.89 crore names out of the full 3.29 crore candidates within the north-eastern state.
Around 40.07 lakh candidates didn't find a place within the historic file, touted to be an explanation of Assamese id.
Deb, who visited Nagpur as of late to fulfill Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat, mentioned there was no call for for the NRC in Tripura.
"Everything is in order in Tripura and everyone has valid papers. Hence, it is not an issue for us," the BJP chief instructed journalists here.
"I don't feel it is even a sensitive issue in Assam and its chief minister is capable of handling the situation," he mentioned to a question.
Some other people in politics having "foreign mindset" had been looking to vitiate the ambience, Deb alleged.
The NRC comprises names of Indian electorate of Assam.
The Congress had on Monday puzzled the non-inclusion of over 40 lakh other people within the ultimate draft of the NRC, alleging that it was a "motivated" motion under the BJP which was looking to play "politics of polarisation".
West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee had additionally expressed concern over the exclusion of over 40 lakh other people within the ultimate NRC draft, pronouncing those "Indian citizens have become refugees in their own land".
Meanwhile, Deb met Bhagwat for about an hour at the RSS headquarters here.
