At ‘Swatantra Geetham’ scheduled on August 15 to commemorate the delivery centenary of the famed Carnatic singer D Okay Pattammal, youngsters will sing in combination 5 Tamil patriotic songs popularised by way of the singer.
“A sequence of occasions are being conducted across Tamil Nadu to commemorate the delivery centenary of the singer. Swatantra Geetham will be the highlight of them,” said Vijay Siva, Carnatic musician and member of organizing committee, DKP-100. “This is in a bid to take track and patriotism to the children. Vice-president Venkaiah Naidu inaugurated the celebrations on March 17, 2018. Children interested may just sign in their names via http://dkp100.org/dkp100. The registered youngsters will be asked to hear the songs, be told and sing alongside the level conceivable.
