He added, "At one place in the border police's inquiry report to the tribunal, my address has been shown as a resident of Kalikajhari. In another place, it is mentioned as Bangladesh. Is this not discrepancy when all my documents say that I am from Kalikajhari? I was also not even interviewed by the police when they filed the report."
Last week, leader of the Opposition and Congress legislature birthday party leader Debabrata Saikia visited Kalikajhari and interacted with the families who got the foreigners' notice. He demanded an inquiry into allegations that the border police had been 'arbitrarily' referring names of other folks to foreigners' tribunals. Saikia additionally asked the federal government to stop harassment of electorate in the name of detecting foreigners.
