GHAZIABAD: The district magistrate on Thursday ordered a complete survey of all under-construction buildings and infrastructure tasks in Ghaziabad within the backdrop of the dual building collapse in Greater Noida during which nine individuals have died as consistent with newest figures.
The Ghaziabad District Administration (GDA) has been directed to collect and submit a consolidated file of the findings within seven days.
District magistrate Ritu Maheshwari told TOI that the workout has been undertaken to identify buildings which are prone to risks and pose protection hazards. Unauthorized constructions, if any, will also be identified throughout the survey.
All zonal enforcement officials of the GDA have been directed to check structural protection of buildings constructed through the dept.
“Letters are being issued to non-public developers to submit the standing of the structural protection of buildings constructed through them. The building collapse in Greater Noida was once a sad and unfortunate incident. We plan to undertake measures to make certain that a crisis of this magnitude does no longer happen in Ghaziabad,” Maheshwari stated.
The administration has further directed executive businesses, including the general public works division, Delhi metro and the NHAI, which can be undertaking quite a lot of infrastructure tasks in Ghaziabad to submit certificate, if they've any, of the structural protection of these works.
“After the girder collapse incident on the under-construction Mohan Nagar metro station in April, we had sought structural protection certificate of all tasks through executive structure businesses in Ghaziabad. We have no longer received the certificate from any of the businesses to this point. Reminders have been despatched to these businesses,” stated Maheshwari.
While GDA, in addition to the GMC, keep a tab on protection facets of buildings in city spaces, enforcement is lax in rural spaces where ‘kaccha’ buildings have mushroomed in unauthorised colonies, officials stated.
In January 2017, at least 5 individuals, including two women and 3 youngsters, have been killed after a two-storey area collapsed in Rahat Enclave, Loni.
