‘Scuffle’ at Sector 50 society over upkeep

GURUGRAM: Some residents of Wembley Estate, an upscale condominium in Sector 50, alleged on Saturday that a scuffle broke out between workers of the RWA-appointed new repairs company CBRE and bouncers hired by way of the developer within the morning over maintenance of the society.

Eros Group, the developer, on the other hand, denied the allegation.

Residents said that they had unilaterally determined to take over the upkeep of the condominium on June 10 from the developer. “At the annual common assembly of RWA, over 100 contributors voted in favour of any such transfer. Later we hired a brand new company to seem after repairs, but if some staffers from the company got here to familiarise themselves with the society on Saturday morning, some eight to 10 bouncers of the builder got here and stopped them. There was once a scuffle and then the personnel left,” said a resident.

According to residents, the issue revolves around the switch of repairs to RWA from the builder. “For the previous 5 years, we were trying to persuade the builder to switch the upkeep to RWA,” said Pankaj Dhar, a resident.

A spokesperson for the Eros Group said, “We have already agreed to switch the upkeep to the RWA. There are some problems when it comes to RWA formation which will occur in two months and the residents will regularise the entirety.”
