CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu may exempt itself from NEET-2018 for admission to AYUSH classes and observe single window admission in line with Class 12 marks from this educational 12 months.
Senior health officials can be assembly leader minister Edappadi Ok Palaniswami at the secretariat to come back out with a last resolution on Monday.
The state is pushing for admission to the 1,740 UG seats in 29 AYUSH colleges -- including 390 seats in six govt colleges -- in line with Class 12 marks.
In February, AYUSH had asked state authorities to publicise that scholars searching for admission to Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy will have to transparent Neet-2018 carried out by way of the central board of secondary education in May.
The Central Council for Indian Medicine stated this may improve high quality of scholars around the country.
However, unlike the Medical Council of India, which amended its Act, the council only sent notifications pronouncing NEET is necessary.
