Teachers thrash deaf and mute boy

KOLKATA: A deaf and mute scholar of Class V at a Garia college used to be allegedly thrashed by means of a instructor on Wednesday. The boy's parents lodged a grievance against the accused at the Sonarpur police station.

When sufferer Subhajit Das - a scholar at Mahamayapur Adarsha Vidyapith - returned home on Wednesday, his mother Aparna noticed that he used to be behaving oddly. When she requested what used to be incorrect, he broke down and wrote the accused instructor's name on a work of paper, explaining in sign language that he had been thrashed in class.

Aparna spoke to the school's educational secretary, Suparna Raha, and teacher-in-charge Pradipta Mondal who assured her that they'd convene a gathering with academics on Thursday. The parents also lodged a grievance against another instructor who had thrashed Subhajit a couple of months in the past.

Later in the day, Suparna went to the Das's area with five college academics and confident his parents that such incident would never occur once more.

An officer of the Sonarpur police station stated, "We are probing into the matter."
