GURUGRAM: The district health department confirmed the first dengue case this year on Thursday. The 40-year-old affected person, a resident of DLF 5, has been admitted to a personal clinic.
District epidemiologist Ram Prakash said that out of the 18 suspected cases of dengue, just one was once confirmed, to this point. “This is the first case of dengue this year in the city. We are keeping track of areas where dengue cases were reported from, ultimate year, equivalent to DLF 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5, Sushant Lok, the Golf Course house, sectors 50, 56 and 57, and slums in Shitla, New Palam Vihar, Bajhera,” he said.
Chief clinical officer Gulshan Arora said that dengue cases were often reported from upscale areas in the city.
“The reason why is that citizens do not trouble to switch the water in their tanks or flower pots or coolers. Mosquitoes breed in stagnant but transparent and now not grimy water,” he said. He added that ultimate year, the health department began the ‘Drying Day’ drive so that other people removed water amassing in and round their properties.
“We are involved with the municipal company which has been preserving information of dengue and malaria cases through the geo-mapping app from ultimate year. Their field group of workers uses the app to add photos of and knowledge on stagnant water at any place or house and motion taken on that entrance. This is helping us to test the unfold of dengue,” he said.
