NEW DELHI: Almost 150 other folks onboard Jet Airways’ Riyadh-Mumbai flight had a slim break out when the airplane rejected take off and then went off the runway within the early hours of Friday. Sources say the pilots must have braked laborious to verify the plane stops within the available duration of the runway at Riyadh after aborting take off but it could have skidded off it. However, the exact explanation for why the Boeing 737 went off the runway will be recognized after a probe.
In a statement, Jet said: “Our flight 9W 523 with 142 visitors and seven team members from Riyadh to Mumbai of third August aborted takeoff and departed the runway at Riyadh Airport. All our visitors and team had been evacuated safely without a reported accidents.”
“Guests had been accommodated inside the terminal building. Our teams present at the location are assisting visitors in each possible way…. All our visitors and team members of flight 9W 523 accommodated inside the terminal building at Riyadh Airport had been served meals and refreshments and our teams are caring for their necessities,” the statement added.
