Strong earthquake jolts Indonesian island of Lombok

JAKARTA (Indonesia): A strong earthquake jolted the Indonesian island of Lombok on Sunday as it tries to get better from a quake earlier this month that killed 460 other folks.
The US Geological Survey measured Sunday's quake, which was targeted in the northeast of the island, at magnitude 6.three and a depth of seven kilometers (4 miles).

An Associated Press reporter at the island mentioned the tremor brought about landslides in hilly spaces and panic in villages. There were no immediate reviews of injuries or fatalities.

The national disaster agency mentioned it was collecting information.

A magnitude 7.0 quake on Aug. 5 damaged tens of thousands of homes and displaced a number of hundred thousand other folks on Lombok.

Indonesia, a sprawling archipelago that straddles the Pacific "Ring of Fire" is at risk of earthquakes and volcanic eruptions.
