NEW DELHI: Indian shuttler B Sai Praneeth was knocked out of the Denmark Open on Wednesday after struggling a three-game defeat to Huang Yuxiang of China in the first round of the $7,75,000 event.
The 26th ranked Indian misplaced the round of 32 contest 21-12, 14-21, 15-21 towards World No. 34 Chinese in 57 minutes.
Praneeth started the competition aggressively and gained the first recreation 21-12 simply, but Yuxiang pressured the fit into the decider by way of profitable the second recreation 21-14. The alternate in momentum derailed the Indian in the all-important final recreation and misplaced the decider 15-21.
In the doubles pageant, Ashwini Ponappa and N Sikki Reddy moved to the second round of ladies's doubles with an easy 21-7, 21-11 win over the American team of Ariel Lee and Sydney Lee.
But it was curtains for Meghanna Jakkampudi and S Ram Poorvisha, who misplaced 17-21, 11-21 to the Swedish aggregate of Emma Karlsson and Johanna Magnusson.
While, international quantity six Kidambi Srikanth set up a second-round clash with the legendary Lin Dan after an easy win over Denmark's Hans-Kristian Solberg Vittinghus. Srikanth wanted 35 minutes to get the easier of local hope Vittinghus 21-16, 21-10 in the opening round.
Srikanth has misplaced 3 of his four matches towards Dan but the Chinese nice is not the drive he once was. The former international primary is now placed 14th in the international rankings. The ultimate time Srikanth beat Dan was in 2014 at the China Open.
