NEW DELHI: The State Bank of India (SBI) has asked its users to sign in their cell numbers, if now not already accomplished, with the lender in the event that they want to continue internet banking services and products. The country's biggest lender has, in a notification, mentioned that if the registration of cell numbers with the respective branches aren't accomplished prior to December 1, 2018, then internet banking facility is also blocked.

"Attention INB (internet banking) users, please register your mobile number with us immediately, if not already done, through Branch, failing which the Internet Banking facility may be blocked with effect from 01.12.2018," the SBI notification, on its website online, said.

SBI to have a couple of modes of biometric authentication for apps

All customers having finger print embedded smartphone will in future be capable of authenticate transactions the use of this feature. However, with the intention to use the finger print authentication feature, the buyer would have to sign in their finger print on the server through the financial institution’s existing cell banking utility.


How to check if your cell number is registered with the financial institution:

* Login to SBI website online (www.onlinesbi.com)

* Go to 'My account' tab and click on 'Profile'

* Then, click on 'Personal main points'


* Enter the profile password (which will be different from the login password)


* After entering the password appropriately, registered cell number will be displayed


For the ones, who haven't registered their contact number with the financial institution, seek advice from your home branch.
