NOIDA: Hundreds of employees of a Chinese smartphone production facility here resorted to violence on Thursday after around 200 of them had been "sacked without notice", officials said.
Around 1,200 workers of the Hipad Technology India, which makes Xiaomi and Oppo telephones, went on a rampage pelting stones on the construction and barging into the power in Sector 63, they said.
However, the corporate had no legitimate reaction until the time the file was filed.
Police power was deployed on the site whilst senior officials, including Superintendent of Police, Noida City, Sudha Singh, reached there to evaluate the location.
Singh said police had been alerted about the violence breaking out on the manufacturing unit, underneath Phase three police station limits, around 10am and right away reached the spot.
"We got to know that several employees had resorted to violence after they were 'sacked' by their office without any notice," she said.
Singh said no formal grievance were lodged through the corporate until the afternoon, whilst police had been probing the info.
