Pak breaches truce again, Army jawan killed in Rajouri

JAMMU: An Indian Army soldier was once killed in cross-border firing when Pakistan violated ceasefire along the Line of Control in Nowshera sector of Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district on Sunday afternoon. This is the third breach of truce in the remaining three days.

“Around 2.45pm, Pakistani troops resorted to unprovoked firing on Indian posts, prompting our personal forces to retaliate. In the ensuing gunbattle, Naik Gosavi Keshav Somgir (29) was once seriously wounded and later succumbed to his accidents,” mentioned Jammu defence spokesperson Lt Col Devender Anand.

“Somgir, who was once from Sri Rampur village in Maharashtra’s Nashik, is survived by his spouse,” Anand mentioned, adding that the deceased was once a courageous and honest soldier to whom the country will at all times remain indebted.
