Prized watermelons of Parra reclaim their place under the sun

PARRA: The famous Parra watermelon, extremely prized for its sweetness, is seeing a revival with an increasing number of farmers rising the fruit.

The watermelon variety nearly died out in large part due to a brief provide of seeds and declining choice of farmers rising the crop, however timely intervention by the native panchayat became its destiny round.
