Ram, farm & jobs on Congress's MP manifesto

BHOPAL: Showcasing the birthday party's 'soft-Hinduvta' face, the Congress election manifesto released on Saturday has promised to launch a 'Ram Van Gaman Path' excursion to retrace Lord Ram's footprints in Madhya Pradesh and arrange a brand new 'religion and spiritual department' within the executive that plans to begin business manufacturing of cow urine and cow dung desserts in gaushalas. It also pledges to move a law to give protection to the Narmada river.

Congress has also promised to shut down Vyapam, waive farm loans of up to Rs 2 lakh and constitute a 'Vidhan Parishad' in Madhya Pradesh meeting. Voting for 18 constituencies within the state will be hung on November 12.

The Mandsaur police firing that killed 5 farmers will be reinvestigated if Congress involves energy, says the manifesto, named 'Vachan Patra (Pledge Document)'.

The manifesto was released on the state Congress headquarters by Pradesh Congress leader Kamal Nath, state election marketing campaign chairman Jyotiraditya Scindia and former leader minister Digvijaya Singh. Scindia stated, "We have promised progress and development. Women will be given priority during recruitment in police force. Industry will be promoted so jobs are created. And all this will be implemented with a specified time limit."
