Rupee rises 21 paise to 3-month high against US dollar

MUMBAI: Rising for the fourth immediately day, the rupee climbed 21 paise to a three-month top of 69.64 towards the United States buck in early trade on Friday, amid weak spot in the buck towards some currencies in another country and the next opening of home equities.

Forex traders said, increased selling of the American forex by way of exporters and banks and sustained overseas fund inflows also supported the home forex.

At the interbank foreign exchange marketplace, the rupee opened higher at 69.68 and rose further to quote at 69.64, appearing a upward thrust of 21 paise over its earlier close.

On Thursday, the rupee had vaulted 77 paise to a three-month top of 69.85 according to US buck.

The local unit also accumulated momentum following easing crude oil prices, which slipped beneath the $60 according to buck mark as buyers fretted over a provide glut.


Globally, Brent crude, the global benchmark, used to be buying and selling zero.42 according to cent up at $59.76 according to barrel.


Meanwhile, on net foundation, overseas budget purchased shares price Rs 823.47 crore, while DIIs bought share to the tune of Rs 973.31 crore Thursday, provisional knowledge confirmed.
