AMBERNATH: A early life slapped minister of state for social justice and empowerment Ramdas Athavale right here all through a Republican Party of India (RPI-A) function on Saturday evening. Party staff caught dangle of the early life, assaulted him, and handed him over to the police.


The police tightened security as town was traumatic after the incident. Athavale had come to address a public rally of the party at Netaji Chowk in Ambernath (west). Police said that Athavale, after finishing his speech, was leaving the stage when he was slapped. Angry party staff pounced on the early life virtually straight away, said the police.


Police inspector Narendra Patil showed the assault on Athavale. The police said they had detained the early life, Pravin Gosavi, however have been yet to determine the cause of the attack. As the party has its stronghold within the city, the police beefed up security to avoid any untoward incident.
