Asha workers detain six passenger trains

PATNA: Hundreds of Asha staff paralysed the movement of a number of passenger trains at different puts beneath Danapur division of the East Central Railway (ECR) for hours on Thursday. They have been challenging regularization of their products and services and lift in pay scales.


According to ECR’s chief public members of the family officer (CPRO) Rajesh Kumar, the agitated Asha staff forcibly detained a minimum of six passenger trains, however cleared the tracks as soon as ladies Railway Protection Force personnel reached different spots and chased them away.


“Some of the detained trains have been the Howrah-Gaya Express (13023) at Sheikhpura station at the Kiul-Gaya segment of the division from 8.28am to 8.45am, the Rajendra Nagar Terminal-Jaynagar Intercity (13226) at Fatuha from 7.55am to 8.15am and the Shramjeevi Express (12391) at Biharsharif from 8.50am to nine.10am on Thursday,” Kumar mentioned.


Besides, the Asha staff blocked the movement of many trains at Koparia and Ramgarhwa stations beneath Samastipur division of the ECR for a while.
