Bhiwandi AC businessman duped of Rs 4 lakh

THANE: A Bhiwandi-based businessman, Mohammad Khan, trading in air conditioners (AC) was once duped to the tune of Rs 4.24 lakh after a conman, who posed as a broker, took the delivery of 14 AC devices in Kasarwadavli and didn't pay the quantity. When he did not pay the quantity, Khan filed a police complaint.

Khan, in his complaint to the police alleged that it was once on October 29 when a person named Nainesh Panchal known as him on his cellular and instructed him he is a broker having a store at Naglabandar.


“The sufferer was once instructed that he is want of 9 AC devices price 2.60 lakh, however to start with the sufferer refused declaring that he does no longer deal over phone orders,” stated a cop. The accused then sent him a receipt of the money deposited at a national financial institution and sent a photograph of it on a messaging application a few days later.


The sufferer got satisfied whilst the accused pestered him to deliver, added the police officer. Subsequently, the 9 devices were brought to the accused, who once more requested for some other five devices price Rs 1.64 lakh and instructed him that he's going to deposit the money in the bank account, which he did not do, stated the police.


The sufferer doubted as the accused had no longer deposited the stated amount in the account and gave evasive answers declaring that the money is deposited in some other account or even he instructed that he shall give the cheque and many others, added the police officer.
