Coimbatore: The city company has sought more time from the Central Zoo Authorities (CZA) to upgrade its zoo at VOC Park as per the information and cited the time taken for the procedures as the cause of the prolong.
During a meeting held in New Delhi not too long ago, company officials defined the stairs taken to upgrade the zoo and sought extra time to enforce them. A company official stated that they were but to get a reply from CZA.
In 2017, when the company approached CZA to resume the licence of the zoo, the government refused to present approval because it didn't meet the required guidelines. It precipitated the company to started preliminary works to standardize the zoo.
“Initially, we had planned to execute the project the usage of the company’s fund. About six months in the past, the project was once taken over by means of the sensible city undertaking. We are planning to upgrade the zoo at a price of Rs 20crore and a proposal was once despatched to the state executive,” stated an organization official involved in the project. “The master format plan was once submitted to CZA. We are planning to merge the zoo and a nearby park and determine a standardized botanical garden along side the zoo on 10acres.”
Master format plan is a map that main points the present facilities and infrastructure, and the site of the proposed developmental actions like area for animals, conservation breeding house and customer flow routes.
The company has appointed knowledgeable as guide to design the zoo as per the CZA guidelines and is anticipated to publish the design by means of January, the official stated.
