Deputy sarpanch, a former Maoist, shot by Naxals

RAIPUR: A former Maoist, who used to be serving as a deputy sarpanch, used to be gunned down via a gaggle of Naxalites at a village in Narayanpur district of Chhattisgarh’s Bastar department on Thursday.

Police stated 39-year-old Manku Potai, the deceased, had surrendered prior to Narayanpur police in 2016. After his give up, Potai used to be elected deputy sarpanch.

Piqued via the rising popularity of Potai and his bonhomie with police, the Maoists made up our minds to do away with him. The Maoists have been also offended because Potai had refused to wait a recent meeting called via them.
