SURAT: Crime department sleuths nabbed five Rajasthan residents from Puna space on Wednesday for his or her alleged involvement in robbery of 17 vehicles. They stole these vehicles from the city previously 12 months.
The burglars performed a reece of the spot and used specialized equipment to damage the locks of the parked cars. They even used stolen bikes to do the recce.
Those arrested have been Suresh alias Suriya Dudhraj Rajpurohit, 21, Badaram alias Badiyo Lukaram Meghwal, 27, Vikramsinh Karansinh Rajpurohit, 19, Makaram alias Makaji Himaji Rajpurohit, 38, and Ganpatsinh Jabbarsinh Rajpurohit, 21, from close to Bhaiya Nagar in Puna. They had come to the city to scouse borrow cars.
Police seized a Hyundai Verna automobile and bike from the accused. The seized automobile used to be stolen from Lakshmi Narayan Society in Varachha while the bike used to be stolen from Mahidharpura to do recce of the automobile.
The gang used to return to town for short period and after visiting other spaces, they targeted cars parked on street. Police detected 17 thefts registered in several police stations of the city like Puna, Varachha, Khatodara and Sarthana.
The burglars mostly stole bigger cars like Chevrolet Tavera and Mahindra Pick-up making an allowance for their call for. They even discovered consumers easily in Rajasthan for these cars.
During investigation, police recovered 4 cars and one bike from them. Of the stolen vehicles, five cars are already in custody of Rajasthan police as 3 cars have been stuck while being utilized in criminality and two have been discovered abandoned.
Of the accused, Meghwal used to be arrested in past in Ahmedabad town, Morbi and Abu Road police stations for involvement in robbery of overall 11 cars.
“We are searhing for out if more individuals are concerned in the racket. We may also interrogate the accused to determine main points of the consumers of stolen vehicles,” stated a criminal offense department officer.
