In UP, woman cop hacked to death by hubby

KANPUR: A 48-year-old head constable of Uttar Pradesh Police was hacked to death allegedly by way of her husband at their home in Karrahi house of Naubasta on Tuesday over suspicion of infidelity. The accused was arrested.

Police stated the deceased Sharda Bhadauriya was the top constable at Unnao Kotwali police station. Her husband Virendra, who was unemployed, suspected her of having an illicit dating and the couple would have frequent arguments over this factor. On Tuesday morning, Virendra hacked her to death the use of a machete and then fled from the house.


After discovering Sharda lying in a pool of blood, the couple's son knowledgeable family, who in flip, alerted police officers. Sharda was rushed to a sanatorium the place she later succumbed. Police have arrested Virendra and recovered the weapon used in the crime.


"Sharda's father Sukh Lal Singh, a retired SI, said Virendra's unemployment prompted Sharda to join UP Police in 1995-96 as a constable. Ever since her joining, Virendra suspected her of infidelity," stated a cop. "Virendra had been behaving very oddly of late and was obsessed with watching violent clips on the internet. He would monitor his wife's movements and would often drop in at the police station where she was posted," he added.


"An FIR was registered based on a complaint by the couple's son. The body has been sent for an autopsy. Forensic experts have collected vital evidence from the spot of the crime," stated SP (south) Raveena Tyagi.
