Mizoram exit polls 2018: All you need to know

NEW DELHI: Mizoram is Congress' final citadel in the Northeast. It has a 40-seat meeting, with 21 seats being the majority mark. With the remainder of the sister states wrestled away by the BJP clear of the Congress, it's going to be fascinating to see if Mizoram will be a unique tale.

Major political events in Mizoram are Congress, the Mizo National Front (MNF), Mizoram People's Conference, the Zoram People's Movement (ZPM), the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), former Lok Sabha speaker PA Sangma's National People's Party (NPP) and Sharad Pawar's Nationalist Congress Party (NCP).

Since 1987, two events have ruled the state -- the Congress and the Mizoram National Party (MNF). In 2013 meeting elections, Congress gained a massive mandate of 34 seats in the state, MNF secured the second one position with 5 seats, MPC gained on one seat whilst BJP didn't open its account.

Incumbent chief minister Lal Thanhawla has said that he's going to not best friend with any of the opposition events even though his party fails to safe a majority. CM Thanhawla is running for a third instantly time period and total sixth time period in place of work. A popular chief in Mizoram, Thanhawla has alleged that MNF and BJP are "secret allies".

While BJP that didn't even gained a single seat in 2013, it's contesting 39 seats in 2018. MNF the biggest regional party is part of the NDA alliance in the heart, but goes by myself in the meeting elections, denying allegations of a post-poll alliance with BJP. Congress’ Thanhawala is also facing stiff festival from arch rival and former CM, Zoramthanga who leads ZPM. Though BJP isn't anticipated to win, it should play kingmaker as soon as the consequences are out -- that’s what the Congress must be careful for.
